We help strengthen what is working well in the lives of young people, whilst addressing the issues that may be impacting negatively on them.
The Otago Youth Wellness Trust (OYWT) works with the Dunedin community to make a positive difference. Dame Patricia Harrison founded the organisation in 1996 working with over 80 people from across the Dunedin community who wanted a local solution ensuring our most vulnerable young people could access a free support service.
OYWT provides a wraparound service for young people (aged 11-18), who need support for issues affecting their wellbeing. These can include health, education, welfare and justice.
We describe our service as wraparound because it is comprehensive, flexible and responsive to the specific needs of each individual young person.
