How We Are Funded

OYWT provides all of our services to the community free of charge. We are a non-profit charity, which means we must find enough funding to cover the costs of providing our service.

Funding is received from Government contracts, charitable grants/donations and individual donations from the local community. Donations, large or small, are always accepted and are used to directly benefit young people in the Dunedin area.

OYWT has very low overheads, ensuring over 80% of our funding is spent directly on salary costs to provide our free service. This includes our wraparound service, mentoring and activities and tutoring programmes. Annually our wraparound casework service is funded by government contracts to support 100 young people annually. However demand for our service means that we are working with over 200 young people and their families/whanau each year.

Thank you for your support - it will make a positive difference for young people in our community.
